Hi,
I saw U2 3D yesterday and was impressed. It made me having almost the feeling at being at a concert, certainly more than after a normal concert movie.

I have googled around to see how the 3D works, and think I understand the basics, showing
one image for each eye by filtering either by colours or polarization.

My question: When watching the film I held my hand in front of my left eye, then what
I saw with my right eye (wearing the glasses) was that for a short while (0,5-1 sec) the
image I saw went darker and more blurred, then it came back to normal. Almost like a
sun-glass filter was over my right eye for this short while. The same did not happen when
blocking my right eye.

What creates this effect / illusion ?
