Since I've been looking into 3-D since I first held a viewfinder and have been interested ever since, but never had the time to delve into it fulltime, my knowledge is, unfortunately, limited at best. However, it would seem to me, that using the Disney technology they used in Capatin EO (the dual projector technology - which came DARN close in Meet the Robinsons (and kudos to RealD for this one), I understand part of the problem being the user's eyes focusing appropriately. But, using object oriented programming, I should be able to take a singular, 3-dimensional object, shift its perspective to match the left and right eyes (which each eye would pick up on naturally to create its central image), use the polarized lenses and realD technology of flipping frames back and forth (which I'd love to get a good explanation of how this is done so I could try it once with a still picture), and then use the computer to literally project its own image out to the screen. Rather than a projector from behind, isn't it possible to recreate the same effect on a standard monitor, treating the image as if you were playing it from a projector and the monitor is the screen? Just curious.
