    File Format

    Hi all

Beside the 3D content creation, what´s the tech spechs of file format for visualizations on Cinema Screens?

How It´s need be done?  Resolution, Frame Rate, File Format, File type? I mean, How the file is?

It´s a two separated files (Left/Right Eye)? Or a single "interlaced"one? Whats the fields order (if interlaced)? I need to produce some Flying logos for a client, but I have no idea how the file looks, works - beside a info about mxf kind file format...

    Thanks

    Re: File Format

From what I've been able to find out, it seems that the mxf file is a wrapper file containing the video which is compressed using jp2k (jpeg2000) at 48 fps however I have also noticed that some are 24 fps. The 48 fps format leads me to believe that it uses an alternating playback method, in that one frame will be the left or right eye and the following frame the alternate, similar to a 3D shutter system.

With the shuttering being handled by a switching system in the polorised lens attached to the projector, instead of blanking out an eye/ lens its switches the polorisation between clockwise and counter clockwise (uses circular polorisation).

Audio appears to be held in a seperate file and there are 2 other files which I think are xml based which I believe instruct the system which files to use at plaback and how they should be handled.

The playback of these files is handled by a Doremi Cinema Server which appears to feed through the RealD system into the projector which controls the switching of the polorised lens. The way that RealD handles this is probably read from the xml docs. Audio is fead through a seperate Digital to Analogue device which similarly seams to get its instructions from the xml type files.

Will be in touch as soon as I manage to find out more..
